Fall Turkey?

My wife asked me a question today and I realized I've never tried. Only hunted em in the spring accept for shooting them while deer hunting.
So, Anyone ever call a turkey up in the fall or winter? Will they respond to a hen call or a gobble call after say Oct?

I have heard in the Fall that you should disturb them off their roost and then call them "back" in to get back together. I have never tired this, but have read about it.

You can do a lost / locator call and get them to come in. Most blinds are at feeders so turkeys will show up like clock work.
