    Question about feeder timer?

My father-in-law has an old timer he doesn't know how to operate. Does anyone have a timer like this and could give me some directions?

Looks like its got an "eye" on it. The kind that go off at sun rise and sun set.

Yea I believ low fence is right. Looks like it "should" go off at sun up and sun down. The knob on it should be to adjust the feed rate... Amount of time it spins when set off.

Thanks for the help. I haven't looked at the feeder up close, only on the picture also. My wife took the picture. I told my wife he needs to get a new feeder but she said he likes this one.

Take a piece of dark cloth and place over the eye to test it.....it probably has a timer that must see dark for a few seconds to activate it, (actually it must be dark for a few seconds ~10 sec., then it will activate when light shines on the eye)....

I don't know about this one, but on a lot of photoeye feeders, you can disconnect the battery then hook it back up and it will spin.

I guess I am getting old cause I don't see an eye. I believe the 3-7 knob is a spin time setting and the other know is a time knob. I had one like it and the right know was for setting it at hour intervals. They used to glue the instructions inside the battery compartment.

I'll go mess with it this afternoon and see if I can figure it out.

I hunt a place that uses this brand exclusively - Audio Link. However, ours all have a clock, where this one has the photo eye.

Give them a call and I am sure they will line you out.

I despise dawn/dusk feeders, I had a day where the light (from storms) was shifting and the thing just went nuts.

It's a very old feeder. My father-in-law doesn't like to spend money.I even thought about buying him a new one but he's kind of set in his ways. Thanks for the info on the AUDIOLINK FEEDERS, and the FIELDPRO FEEDERS. I'll give him the info.
