Dalton (unscented). I have used this for the last few years and like it.

I wax cables and strings every time I shoot.

Does academy sell the wax. I just got a bow off CL and been shooting it. I never owned a bow before and now know I need to wax it. Academy is the closest to me.

I haven't waxed my string yet and I've shot about 130 arrows. Strings still not fuzzy. I shoot about 21 when I get the shance, every other day or so. When I do need to wax, I've gotta tube of the Bohning to use.

You need to wax it before it gets fuzzy. When it gets fuzzy, damage has already been done. The wax is a lubricant for all the different individual threads that make up the string.

you want wax on the string but not wax build up. the wax/silicone keeps the string fibers lubricated. lots of friction. if the string is fraying or "fuzzy" then a lot of the strands (each string strand and most bows have 24 strands are made from hundreds of smaller strands, kinda like dental floss is made)have broken and create that fuzzy look. new string time.

the wax keeps things lubricated and also keeps dirt particles out. as long as when you squeeze the string it has a sticky or oiled feel you good. if you lay your bow down on the ground a lot then the get it warm with friction and wrap some thin string around it and drag out and off the old wax, re-wax

And it is green. I am so tired of hearing about green this and that. It is mainly marketing. I even seen organic mattress. What ever that means. No to get off subject. I like the bees wax idea.
