I just use the regular bow string wax in the white tube. Says Papes on it but I'm sure its made by Bohning or someone.
I wax mine when I looks like it needs it, no real set schedule.
I was told by the bow shop to wax after each time I shoot. I just use the regular ol stuff in the white tube as well. I thought wax was wax. Guess there could be some beneficial adatives though.
The reason I asked, was I have a tube of the Bohning wax and a stick that I got from Buck Nasty when I had a set of strings made. He said that the wax he has was better in that it has some silicone in it and was designed for the newer string materials. I've used both waxes on my string and I can not tell a difference.
For wax in a tube, brother showed me this trick: get a small, thin, 4" piece of leather. Wax the string. Fold and pull the leather along the string to heat the wax and melt it into the string. Works every time.
