My son got disquailifed on 2 other hunts!!! I put mom on there so she could go along and video if drawn, but guess what, YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!! Guess I should have read it closer!!

got drawn for archery mule deer at elephant mountain and already have my permit. on sept 3 my wife had a heart attack and had double bipass on sept 4; she is doing great but long way to go and be away. i have a 1y/o and 6y/o. i even called to see if some one else could use permit and was told no. so there might be a stand by spot at the end of oct depends on my wifes recovery.

I have hunted Chap for many years. take the tripod and popups. There ain't no trees for a ladder stand.

Try to hunt the thickest junk, draws and such. Look for trails and don't be shy about asking the staff for insight.

Also... go down there during dove/quail season and scout/get a general feel for the place(all 15,000 acres)

take a GPS to locate stands in the dark(It all looks the same day or night)

the camp sight is great.

I will be down there on the youth either sex hunt. My 2 boys got drawn.
