    What could have done this..

Went up Saturday to put out my blind, refill my feeder and get my buds feeder and stand setup. When we got to my feeder I noticed what looked like something muddy had been drug down the control box - it was a big slide mark, not something I would expect to see from a coon. The slide was about 3" wide and 6" long.

The control box had been pushed up against the funnel so no corn could come out, and the cover was open (but everything was still connected).

It looked, to me, like something had been hitting the underside of the feeder (which bumped it up against the funnel), then stood up and was pawing the control box (the muddy slide mark on the side). The underside of the control box was also muddy.

The control box is about, what, 5' off the ground (it's the plastic 40 gallon Remington feeder).

Think it was a Deer? A really big pig? I don't have a game camera, so it's all speculation at this point, but something definitely pushed the control box up, there was about 30 pounds of corn left in the feeder.

Either way, there are tracks all around the area, so I should see some action this year, I can hardly wait.

I've seen horses do the same thing. I would bet it's livestock of some kind doing this.

They always look like that after a cow gets to them.

hog standing on 2 legs. had it happen twice last year. Cows most likely won't leave mud.

Livestock of some sort. With the dust on the cover, a wet tongue will look like a mud drag.

I thought about cows, but as far as I know there are none anywhere near the property, and I haven't seen any cow tracks or cow patties. Horses, maybe, but again, no tracks or droppings.

Maybe next year I'll have a game camera so things won't be so mysterious
