anybody ever try this in your deer feeder?

I was think of fillin one of my feeders with rabbit pellets. More protein than corn and mostly made of alfalfa. I now axis like alfalfa. I know the protein content is not important this time of year.

Do you think the pellets would absorb moisture and clog up feeder?

    what are your thoughts?

Skeeter I would think you would have to get a feed that was treated to not hold moisture in a spin feeder. Im also trying to feed something other than corn at my place and lookiong for ideas. I would like to have a way of droping about 5 pounds of corn and sweetfeed mixture everyday but havent found a way of doing it.

Yes it will work. as will some protien feeds that are pelletized to work in spin feeders.
Yes the pellets will absorb moisture and clog things up.
I've used them but, only in feeders where I could go check them every few days.

do not use the pellets in a spinner, sooner or later you will be sorry because it will clog, try roasted soy beans, deer love em.

Roasted soy beans, huh? Thats what I'm lookin for. Something that will attract deer that others aint using. I put out deer blocks and chaffae(sp?) The deer and axis really like it. I may try hand throwin the rabbit pellets just to see how the deer like em.

I have never been able to put any kind of pellets in a spin feeder without it clogging up. I'd be nervous about that.

A couple of years ago my dad was at the local city recycling station and noticed a pallet of very high protein fish food pellets. They loaded him up and he filled his feeders with it. Had tons of deer coming in. Later in the season he took a beautiful 10-point...with gills.

I have been putting creep feed in my hog feeders and it was really working well, untill the humidity picked up a little...All summer it has been working well. Now I get to spend the weekend cleaning out my feeders and the hogs are gonna get about a ton of creep feed to munch on....I'm hard headed so I'm gonna try mixing it with corn....

I've not ever used it but wonder how On-times SBD timer would work for that?
