I go by there every time I go out hunting, it's on the way...I bet I have been in the Buda store over 100 times and I have not returned one single thing........but I have purchased tons of stuff out of the bargain cave that had been returned and never once had an issue with what I purchased out of there either....those who have been taking advantage of the Cabelas and BP stores like this should be banished to Wal-mart sporting goods department for life....

    different strokes for different folks....

Also he said some people were bringing back things like an obviously reamed pair of boots, or clothes saying they didn't like them and they wanted their money back. Wal Mart used to be the same way. Same thing eventually drove them to change thier return policies.

Pitty Cabela's had to resort to this. I'm gonna miss their well stocked Bargain Cave.

Even the new policy is not that bad.

It's a shame there are those that have to cheat the system and mess it up for everybody. Walmart probably lost billions over the years with bad refunds.

I've never had anything but good customer service from Cabela's both in the Buda store and on-line. I hope the money they save with the new policy will benefit the customers. I'd be surprised if it didn't.

I was told they are getting tired of being a "rental store"
People use it for a season and return it.
One guy was getting brand new rods before every fishing tournament he was in...they knew what he was doing but they couldn't do anything about it.
          Now they can.

It all comes down to the fact that you can't trust people anymore. People talk about in some areas where they grew up and never locked a door. It simply was not needed. Now it is different in many if not most areas.

I remember when I was a youngster that some of the stores around my house had blank checks at the register. I was simply a generic blank check and if you forgot your checkbook, you could use theirs. You put the name of your bank on one line, your account number on the other line and then filled it out just like any other check.

Can anyone imagine doing that today?

One has to just tour through the Bargain Cave to see why they changed. I have always been amazed at the boots that were obviously well worn and returned. These boots are not defective or they would not be reselling them. People simply were abusing their excellent return policy by wearing boots, and other clothing, until they wanted a new pair, then returned them for who knows what reason. That borders on dishonesty in my most humble (and I have a lot of reasons to be humble ) opinion. I don't blame them for tightening up.

It is not borderline, it simply is dishonest. It may be legal by their policy but that doesn't change the facts. I don't see it as any different than the people that sponge legally off of the government with the many forms of welfare. The rest of us have to pay for it.
