    Feeding Cattle Creep feed

I know this thread is a little late because it is the end of antler growing season but I was told the other day by a seasoned hunter that he uses a calltle creep feed instead of deer protien. He says it is much cheaper and for the most part the same thing. Have any of you heard of this or used this? I am not trying to be cheap but at $10.50 (purina andlermax 20%) a bag I have a hight protien bill every year. I went on line and tried to compare but had no idea what I was looking at.

thats high for deer protien. I get it in brady for 7.50 and in groesbeck for 8.00 and thats for 20%. Might have to shop around a bit

I heard the same and from what I can gather online, I'm gonna stick with what I've been using. Not that much price diff for me though.

I thought that was high. Unfortunatly I live in Temple, Texas and there isn't much competition. All of the smaller feed stores have closed down.

Cattle protein and deer protein is not the same...different mineral content, plus different protein......not apples to apples....

A lot of creep feed is molasses based and doesn't work well in deer feeder. Tends to stick and ball up

We get it at the feed store by the railroad tracks. It is surefeed brand and they make it right there. Most of the time we get it its still warm and sweet smelling. If you take 190 north of the square you will go over the tracks and itsthe first road on your left.

In our protein feeders we use 3 bags of creep feed to every 1 bag of record rack. These are 2k lb feeders.

That is close to the mixture I was told about. Thank you!
