Good work. Those are some serious bucks. I like the right one in the top photo the most. I the left one and the bottom photo the same mount? The angle makes them look alot different to me.

I am not a pro either, but would have been a satisfied customer. Nice work.

The one on the right...something about it doesn't look quite right to me. I like the sneak

Yea, maybe I should have said that. I definitely think it is the pose and not so much the work

I see a few minor things that could easily be fixed in your next mounts.
You've got a solid foundation to build on and most customers will be happy with your mounts.

I'm no Joe Jasek or Chance Love ... that's just my amateur opinion!

Shoot me a PM if you'd like me to tell you what I see.

Both look like good work, but the mount on the right (viewer's right) is kind of an awkward pose for that deer.

As Textaxi says, I think you have a good foundation. Ive been doing it since 96 and still feel the need to improve(got my butt kicked all day today mounting an L/S Armenian Mouflon).

I think your earbutts could use some work. They look narrow to me at least from the angle of the photos. The old rule of thumb is that the ear butt should be as wide as the widest point of the ear. Get some good reference and youll see what I mean.

Also, groom groom groom. I use a pet brush as Im mounting to groom the hair and again once its mounted I hit it again and use a small brass brush to go over the ears, earbutts and face. Then I hit it again the second day.

I cant see up close detail, but I think your on the right road.

First thing is... whose form's are those?

For as little time as you have in it you are doing nicely. Do you want a general over-view, or really specific stuff? There are enough taxidermists on here (gosh, it seems like we get a new one everyday) that if you want us all to be honest you can get some really good feedback. But to grow as a taxidermist, you have to have pretty thick skin. I try to only comment on another's work when they want me to be honest about it.
