    Firefox question

When I receive a photo in email, and I right click, Save Image As, it appears up in My Pictures as a Firefox Document with no thumbnail preview. How can I change the format so I can see the thumbnail preview and use the image like other pic in my folders? I tried to post a pic on TBH and it appears to upload, but no image appears on the screen.

In the save as dialog box, you should have a box for the filename and another below that for file type. Make sure it is a jpeg or other picture file format before you save it.

Another possibility is that when you click save as, you're actually selecting the webpage rather than a single picture. Look for "save picture as" or something similar. I'm on IE at work right now, so I can't check FF to see what it says.

It only gives me the option to save it as a Firefox Document or All Files. Could it be some internal setting?

Try going to the folder where the files are located. Right click on the picture file and it should bring up a list of options. One of those options should be "open with". Select that and then it will pull up a list of programs. If you see your normal picture viewer, click that program and then at the bottom there is a check box that says always use this program for this file type, make sure to check that box. That should fix you up. More than likely right now it is associating your picture files as an html document instead of a picture file.

Well....I had been opening them with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer all along, but I reopened all of them and THEN copied them to file and could set their format as a bitmap or jpeg. Long way around but mission accomplished. Thanks Shane and Mike.
