    Bow Hunting Beginner

    Hey everyone!

I am new to bow hunting this year and very stoked about it. I have my feeder and everything all set up and some really nice deer showing up on my camera, (I will post pics next) but I do not have a bow yet. I don't want to spend alot of money on one until I make sure that I really can do this. Does anyone have any ideas on some cheap beginner new or used bows? My draw length is 26 and I can pull 40# on a single cam and 50# on a double cam.

    Thanks Again in advance.

mission archery have some descent bows in the 300 range. go by archery country in austin and try some out. and you might want to also try double g in georgetown too. they are both good shops and im sure both can set you up. just do it quick and get to practicing asap. good luck and keep us posted!!

Parker makes some great bows that don't cost an arm and a leg. They come rigged out or bare bow. I've got one that would draw 26" and 40# but it is a dual cam bow. Might give them a look.

I am sure I prob. can do this, but I don't have 300 bux to drop on a bow. I am looking at pawn shops and stuff to see if I can find a used youth bow or something.

Martin Cheetah and Martin Saber. Great bows for the Money. You don't need to spend $900 to get a great bow.

Forget about this, just go do it. Go to a shop and shoot a few bows and see what you think feels good in your hands, and comfortable to hold and draw.
Then if you dont want to spend too much on a bow, find the bow you liked "used" and get it.
By being unsure if you can do it or not, well thats garbage. You can do it just like anyone else on here.
All you have to do is get it setup "right" and to your liking.
Then step 2 is to shoot it, and shoot it some more. Keep shooting till your tearing up arrows and killing pigs, deer, squirrel, coons, rabbits etc.....
Practice when you get time to keep the fire burning. Go to local shops and shoot the small tournaments or use the range and chat with others. Listen and learn as much as you can. "Going to the shop and paying to shoot the range supports your local shop."

Good luck this year! Find a bow that fits you and feels good. I bought my 12 yr old son a Mission UX2 due to the range it provided on draw length and draw weight. He draws 50 lbs and has a 24 inch draw length. The bow will go up to 70 lbs and 30 inch draw so it can fit a wide range of individuals.
