    Browning Auto-5 Choke?

I've got a S/N B41*** Browning Auto-5 12-ga and was wondering what choke it was???...the barrel is a fixed choke and was wondering if it would make a good dove gun...currently it just gets TLC and sits in a gun chest but I thought about resurrecting this beast...what say you TBH brain trust???

If it helps it was manufactured somewhere around 1940-1942...

Generally the Win/Brn/Moss chokes. It all depends on the age of the barrel.
Under the Mossberg name they are called Accuchoke
    Brownings are called Invector
    Winchester were called Winchoke

It doesn't say on the barrel? My dad has a couple of Belguim made A5's from that general era and the chokes are printed on the side of the barrel next to "2 3/4" shells".

His choke is fixed not mobile or changeable....

EEB look for a specific asterisk code on the left hand side of the barrel toward the receiver

          '*' designates full choke (F).
'*-' designates improved modified choke (IM).
          '**' designates modified choke (M).
'**-' designates improved cylinder choke (IC).
          '**$' designates skeet (SK).
          '***' designates cylinder bore (CYL).

Misread, you're looking for the choke of the barrel????????
If I read you S/N correctly that's a 1941 A5 and would proably be a full or mod choke.

I love the look of these guns and shoot so well with them. Unfortunately I had to put them away because I could not stand them constantly jamming with the sky full of doves.

Hope yours works well. Be sure to buy some high brass shells.

I have an old belgium 16 gauge. It's also a full choke. To this day it's one of my favorite guns to carry, especially following rabbit dogs around.

Good luck with yours on the doves.

Thanks!...this is the first time in a LONG time that I've been dove hunting (over 10 years) so I'm really looking forward to it...I've shot my A-5 a few times for fun at the skeet range but I've never laid into it for doves...I'll keep y'all posted...
