    Name That Oak Tree

    Following up from an earlier threat http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...ight=white+oak about identification of white oak vs. red I was out at the farm yesterday and took a few photos of the trees in question.

    I'm guessing what I was thinking were white oaks are actually live oaks? The deer pounded these acrorns last year.




    This is another oak but I don't see any acorns on it..Didn't look very hard.. Have no idea on this one either..

                the fiest tree is a LIVE OAK (Quercus virginiana Mill.)
                the second tree is a POST OAK (Quercus stellata Wang)

                              Correct. a blackjack oak has large leaves that look like the taco bell logo
