    Question about Bowtech General

I have a 2008 Bowtech General. I was trying to paper tune it at Gander Mt. The guy that was working there offered to give me a hand and said that all Bowtech Generals needed the rest moved way out. He moved my center shot way out to the left (i,m right handed). The bow now punches bullet holes in the paper and shoots good, but it just don't seem right that the center shot is that far out. Has anyone else run into this? Maybe some of the Triple Edge guys can shed some light on this for me.

If your arrow is not square with the bow, he is wrong.
Nock an arrow, and set bottom cam on ground and look over the top of the bow and if your arrow is pointing left, the rest is too far left.
To get a bullethole from this setting, the string is being pulled to the right of a straight line with the cams.
I don't know why this is common with the binary cam system, but it sure seems to be.
Pull the bow and line string up visually with cam grooves, and center shot will move back to center.

Are you only shooting one distance? What happens to your arrow as you back up? You need to tune for the sweet spot of the bow, not necessarily the center shot. Does your arrow move to the left as you back up? Just because your arrows group well at a known yardage, doesn't mean your bow is tuned correctly.

Your arrow should be fairly square to the bow's riser to be close to being in the correct position. An easy way to see this is see if the outside of your arrow shelf is parallel to the arrow shaft when on the arrow rest. The reason I say fairly close and not exactly is because no two bows are exactly the same and some have more cam lean than others. Also, arrow rests and other factors (like limb/cam/string variances/shooting style/etc) will change the sweet spot of each individual's bow.

We use the walk back method described by Easton in their arrow tuning guide. Spot-Hogg also did a good job describing this procedure in their newsletter a few months back but I am not allowed to distribute it w/o their permission unfortunately.
