I moved out here to California and the ac in my truck went out, well, its really cool here and I haven't been worried about it that much. Now that i'm coming home to TEXAS I decided to go get it checked on. I took it to the mechanic and he looked at it and said it was just my tensioner (i have no idea what the heck that is) and my AC belt. He said it'd cost about 180 after parts, labor, and tax and I was OK with that... I left my truck there and he called me a couple hours later with some bad news... He told me the problem wasn't my tensioner, it was my compressor and it's gonna cost about $900 to fix it... needless to say I went and picked up my truck without the AC getting fixed and my fiance and I are going to have to make the 1600 mile trip back to God's country with no AC!!!! arrrgh!!!.... Across the Mojave desert and across ari- friggin- zona....... would it be worth making the trip at night? if i split the trip in half i could make it in two nights... and i have a buddy that is a mechanic back home and he said I could buy the part and he'd help me put it in... probably 225 or so out of my pocket for the part and the case or two of beer while we put it in... what do yall think???? lemme know!!!!

i told her i was just gonna buy a small window unit and a converter and sit it in the back seat for the trip home hahaha... she didn't go for that... she is ok with no AC for now... i promised her we'd stop in Albuquerque (her home town) and stay a couple nights with one of her best friends.... that kinda gave me some room... haha....
