    Snook Fishing in the Everglades

Flying out Monday for 2 1/2 days of fishing in the Everglades. We went last year and had a blast. We scheduled a better time this year and the snook are supposed to be everywhere. My buddy spoke with the guide this week and he said the reds have been so aggressive they are almost a nuisance (what a problem to have ) I caught my biggest trout last year so hopefully can top it this year. Will put some pics on when we get back.

Grew up fishing for snook around Boca Grande, Sanibel, Pine Island Sound. I love catching snook and eating them too. I believe season is closed so just CNR for now. I think it opens September 1?? Planning a trip right now for next Spring down that way, staying north of the glades though, Fort Myers area. Are you fishing out of Chokoloskee (sp?)?

Everglade City is where we stayed but Chokoloskee sounds familiar. We kept some trout last year and had the only restaurant open in the town cook it up. When they ask us what kind of fish and we told them you would have thought we brought in hardheads by the look on their face. I think they consider anything but snook trash fish
