I just read a thread that was posted with many negative replies about the verbage. I wanted to post this separtely so as not to offend any one that had replied. I like this site but think that there are some folks on here that are overly critical of others. Why do some people think that they have to put other people down or criticize them in public? Were they picked last on the 3rd grade kick-ball team and still trying to overcompensate for that terrible injustice? We are all here for the same reasons. Take a moment to read the forum guidelines before you bash another member. Cut folks some slack. We get enough greif from work.

I keep seeing a lot of threads like this. It makes me want to skip a few days between checking in when I used to check in multiple times a day.


At least deer season is close. People if you can't say anything consteuctive don't post at all.

Mods: maybe negative posts should deduct 2 from your post count.

It seems to be getting worse and worse.. I know there are a few that just can't seem to help their self when it comes to throwing their opinion out there real quick, and have been that way ever since I joined. My dad used to have a saying, "Your broadcasting when you ought to be tuning in"

I think some of you guys take that stuff to heart when the rest of us can see the humor in it. Like you said, there is enough grief from work so guys tend to lighten things up a bit around the campfire. It's all in fun, I didn't see one mean post. Alot of funny guys around here and I enjoy seeing the funny posts. Just my opinion.

I'm always up for humor and bantering. Many of the folks who post on this site know each other personally. Giving each other a hard time is just part of the game.

What bothers me is when folks insult someone they don't know all in the name of a good joke. To me, that creates a completely different situation. I don't know the majority of the posters on TBH, so you won't see me making fun of their spelling, edumucashion, etc.

Seriously, this is a campfire and if you can't razz your friends around a fire, then what is the point. You can usually tell how well you are liked at our place by how much you get pinched...it's great.


The new guys with the right attitude catch on quick, but I can see how some might not quite understand the tbh routine. There are some really close compadres here, who if you just joined would think they hated eachother.

This is not your average forum but I understand where you are coming from.

I agree with you, but a lot of the comments that were made on the thread you are talking about, were made in jest. It is impossible to add inflection or sarcasm to your voice when you are typing, that is why the smilie faces exist. I'm just sayin!!! Season is almost here!!!!!

Ill put my 2 cents in on this.

I see this on almost every forum, from hunting to fishing.
There are several different scenerios that most people dont understand:

1. The people ribbing and making fun of each other are sometimes friends just messing with each other.
2. Its hard to really understand someones feelings by reading their post. It might read one thing, but completely mean something else.
3. MOST IMPORTANT
I think most people forget that you have every level of bow hunter on here, from novice to expert. And the reason most get on here is to get help on questions, not get made fun of.
4. You will always have guys that think they are funny or tuff behind a computer, you just have to blow them off and move on with your own agenda.

I guess I am little soft. Seems easy for some folks to be a tough guy sitting in front of a computer screen.

As for the joking, I am all far it. But, if you don't know someone and take stabs at them, I doubt they view it as a joke. You can use that excuse to justify your behavior if you would like.

Anyway, this is just one guys view on some posts. I will continue to post and try to be respectfull of all people on this site just as I do in my daily life.
