    Any Laptop gurus?

I am about to have to purchase a new laptop for my wife. It will need to have wireless capabilities, good memory, ability to work with pictures and some video. She will be assisting me in real estate , and will need to does close to as much as my office computer.

Let me know what is good and why, also let me know what I can expect to pay. Thanks.

Shane....I just switched to an apple home computer. My next purchase will be an apple laptop. Great built in photo and video software (ILife) and too much stuff to list here. You comin' to Houston anytime soon? Swing by the Apple store in Woodlands Mall on I-45....I promise you will buy one!

I have a Macbook a blackone it was 1500. it is unstopable I have had it almost a year now. I have dropped it thrown it around and have down loaded every thing pics videos mostly stuff from here. the only problems i have had are factory recall that the fans quit working and mac sent, overnighted, a box prepaid and i had it back in about a week. you can also take it to an mac authorized dealer or tech and they can work on it free of charge. The really cool thing abou the newone are that they can run on eihter Mac OSX or The new microsft program. however when you run microsoft you are prone to the viruses that they are. macs just simply are invincable! im pleased with mine.

I asked the same question on a highend geek email list I belong to and got a huge number of responses in favor of the IBM T60 and Z60.

Here is a quote from one of the responses:

"I've owned five Toshibas and three Dells. I bought an IBM Thinkpad Z60m this last time. It is hands-down the best quality laptop I've ever owned.

YMMV, but I'd buy another one in a second."

This was from a guy who uses it hours and hours every in some of the worst possible enviorments.

          Good luck

I have had good luck with the toshibas...We use IBM thinkpads at work and have had several issues, not real fond of them. I hear great thing about the apples, and all the virus hackers don't have some vendetta against them
