My Last trip was the end of January.
Beat heck out of the month in August.
The place was slower in Jan than November when I was there.
Mad rush getting ready for the "Games.
FarFromHome - last trip was short notice and busy.

I was in Doha, Qatar a few months back for the Doha Games. My dad works over there.

but I've yet to see an oryx. The oryx is kind of the national symbol here, and are protected.

If you head out into the Nature preserve they are there. I would much rather head out into the Sand Dunes with a borrowed Nissan Patrol and sand tires though. Next time I head over there I am fishing!

It was busier then usual when I was there due to the Games going on but watching the games was fun. Mostly the shooting events. I got lots of pictures of everything while there.

Have fun and a safe trip back. I was there about a year ago. Coming from Afghanistan eating Afghan food to Qatar where I found a Mall with a food court was great. I first went to McDonalds at a Big Mac, Large Fry, Large drink, then moved right on over to DQ where I got a Heath Blizzard. That followed by several other American chain places. I gained about 6 pounds that day. It was one of the best days ever.
