    Nilgai Question

I have an opportunity to hunt some property that has nilgai passing through on a regular basis. But thats just it, they are passing through. Unfortunately, the property is 1 1/2 hours from the house so I wont be able to be there very often so, what can I put out for feed to keep them coming into one particular spot. Planting is kinda out of the question so I need to know if they will eat alfalfa,or range cubes,or whatever. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

They love alfalfa...If you can keep some out it wont take l;ong to have regular visitors to it!

I have a lease near the King Ranch, and yeah...range cubes are great...Nilgai hunting is hard but definately a great kill... very good eats and a hard hunt... they tend to be very spooky around the King...

i hunted the kenedy 5 years in a row and never killed one, shot at one in the dunes about 400 yards didnt come close,i wasnt all that mad at em though,i was more interested in the native whitetail hanging out in the holy land

              What exactly are "range cubes"?

Not related to feeding but they also "poop" in the same general areas (maybe 5 yard square) on a regular basis. Usually around a crossing of trails. Thats an excellent place to set up to hunt um. Black bucks do the same thing. Once you see it you will know your in the right spot

All good info, that will bump your odds up at drilling one. The NUMBER ONE RULE of Nilgai hunting is the only predictable thing about them is they're unpredictable

Range cubes are 80/20, sometimes molasses and Alfalfa and other nutrients for cattle compressed into a cylinder feed ration for cattle about 1/2" in diameter. Think protein pellets on steroids.
