    Video guru needed

I got only one harvest on video this year. It was an awesome early morning harvest of a managment 7pt buck taken at 15yards, and he goes down on camera @#$@$%! it's awesome and for the life of me I cannot get it from the camera into the computer. Been trying for about my 3rd hour now, and am throwing in the towel. Even if I do get it to the point that it is in the PC I wouldn't really know what to do afterwards. I am looking for a felow TBH'r that is willing to assit (do it for me) me in getting this on the net to share with ya'll via HuntingFootage.com or on our video page. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I am willing to send the tape. It is a Sony HI-8. Thanks.

If it's plain old Hi8 it won't go to your computer without transferring it to miniDV or something digital. I think there's a Hi8Digital that can be transferred.

I have a Hi8 digital and I have never had any problems capturing video to my computer with the supplied usb's. I use windows movie maker that came with my computer and it asks were to capture the video from and I pick my video cam and then it captures it. I am not a video guru by any means but this is how I do it... Did you try to use windows movie maker? this may not help you but this is how I can do it...

Windows Movie maker is pretty easy to use once you capture the video to it, I usually blindly edit mine using it, I have only done 3 videos though,

There are many people on here with better and more info than me so hopefully more help comes

Chris...what OS are you using on your computer? I couldn't get it to work with Windows 2000. I switched to a laptop running XP and it still wouldn't work. My buddy told me to download the latest Service Packs (all day affair on dial up!). I rebooted and it saw my camcorder right away and had no problem capturing video with Movie Maker after that.

Hi 8 Dig should capture fine. What editing software are you using? That may be your problem.

I'd be willing to trade labor for one of those cool pistols you make

J/K I don't do video, but for one of those pistols I'd learn.
