The soft bow cases take up less room. But, they don't appear to provide the protection of a hard case. Do you use a soft case? Only for trips to the range or for hunting trips too?

I thought I would never use a soft case untill I won one in a door drawing. I have had it for about 6 years now, it has made lots of miles including 2 trips to Nebraska, never had one problem, because of the size most of the time its in the back seat. I love it. Would not get on a plane with it though

I use a soft case for trips to the range and most hunting where I drive.
For air flights I use a Brownell case... http://www.brownellarchery.com/brownell-bowcase.pdf this case has been across the country at least 20 times without any trouble...

when it is raining and no room in the truck, hard case is the ticket.

I got a soft case, a cheap one at Academy to go in the back seat of my truck for quick runs to the shop or when I'm out hunting. I like it b/c it pads my bow and keeps dust off it without getting in the way like a hard case does.
Now if I go on a long trip and need space... Bow goes in the hard case and goes in the bed.
