    Tough course today at IBH

I thought it was a very tough course. I shot worse than I have in a long time. Was shooting my backup due to string problems on primary and it wasn't completely dialed in. Plus the fact that I just shot lousy!. I had some concern with safety, several shots you could see people walking beyond the target as you were shooting. All said and done, it was a great day to shoot.

I haven't been involved this year because of my illness, but I heard about the safety issues and they will be addressed. We want all input good or bad so we can try and improve our range.

          Thanks,
          Marty

I had a blast. It was my first time out in Irving. I would agree with the safety concerns which need to be addressed but other than that I had a blast!

Main concern was the safety factor. People behind targets, just as we shot a target a group came from behind it going the wrong way. Very hard to find what direction to go and also a long ways to backtrack to shoot all the targets. Hardest course we've had to shoot in a long time. For those that have been shooting awhile not a big deal, heard a first timer ask if all 3-d shoots were that hard. Kind of put a bad taste in some shooters mouths.

                  Just a thought

I have been shooting for some time and found this course to be very challenging. Allot of distance and allot of thinking involved. This may not have been the best course for a first timer however, we were for warned. I believe that everyone should shoot from his or her comfort zone/distance. If you do not wish to shoot for money or prizes that is also an option. I have not heard of any club that would deny a participant to shoot for fun as long as they are notified prior to the shooter starting. This would allow the archer to move to a comfortable location for their skill. I would like to thank the people who set this range for helping me to increase my skills with such a challenging course.

                  THANK YOU.

I spoke with the guys that set up the course and they would like to apologize for the safety issues.

This was the first time for them to set that part of the range and they missed some safety issues.

We at IBA want to assure all shooters we will not let course safety be an issue again.

I would like to first off thank you for addressing the safety concerns as that was a great concern of mine as well. Its good to know that you are taking those concerns seriously. Also I really enjoyed the technical difficulty of the course setup. This is my second year shooting 3-D shoots and I enjoyed that type of course. I lost 3 arrows but learned some valuable shooting lessons due to that which I can take to the field. I wouldn't have gotten those lessons from a generic course setup. Good job there!!!!!!!! One thing I didn't like though is the shoot was posted as a Shotgun Start, but announced at the club as a California start. I prefer the California starts however the course wasn't setup to handle a California start as the lines got backed up right off the bat becasue it was nearly impossible to walk ahead of the first starting groups. That lead to some big backups. None the less I just loved the challenge and will certainly return for future shoots especially due to how you took our safety concerns politely and professionally.

Great Club and great people!!!! Thansk again!!!!
