At MCAC we give pins away at each monthly shoot. We use 30 targets at unknown yardage and only have male/female Bowhunter and Open Classes. We have one traditional class. The simpler the better in my opinion.

We have a points system that is tied to the end of the year award. MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED!!!! We give 10 points to 1st place finish, 9 points to 2nd place, 8 points to 3rd place...down to 10th place. At the end of the year, the person with the most points is the Class Champion. We do this in each class we have.

Shooter of the Year -- We take each class champion and have a 15 target shoot off with each person shooting from their own class stake. Winner is Shooter of the Year.

We had 126 last month on Easter Weekend and 89 this past weekend. I think the idea of rain scared people away. I really believe that if you want numbers up, you have to keep away from shooting on Sundays. There for a while we were the only club shooting on Saturday in Southeast TX. I think after our success other clubs are starting to take notice and follow suit.

I like the idea you have for an end of year bowhunting rig only blowout. I want to do that here and have stuff like deerstands, bows, blinds and other stuff to give away. I think it's a great idea and I think I would be willing to pay $25 to enter depending on giveaway stuff.

This is some of the stuff we gave away last year to our Class Champions. Looking to do the same this year.. sorry for the link

We have a club championship series. This year it is 5 shoots and a championship. Best 3 scores are averaged and combined with championship score for the winner in each class. Must be a member to win Club Champion. We shoot 1/2 & 1/2 at club shoots with 14's and low 12's. We also shoot a reduced ASA class load. We give medallions for awards in all classes for club shoots and you must be present to receive it. Members- $10 adult $5 youth and 12 and under shoot free. Non-members $15 adult $10 youth and 9 and under shoot free. All youth and younger classes get an award for competing. We shoot on Sundays with Traditional shooters starting 8:00 am and all others 9:00 to 12:00 with cards in by 3:00. We are averaging over 100 shooters at club shoots for this year.

          FORMAT:
This will not be a points accumulative league. This club will put traditional shooters, target shooters and hunters all on the same level. No one type of shooter will have an advantage over another type/ style shooter. Age and experience will also not be a factor. The sole purpose of this club is to practice and hone your own archery skills, offer tips and assistance to other archers new to the sport and fellowship. Season will consist of 8 shoots. Bi monthly starting in May and ending in August. Each shooter will have the opportunity to shoot three 5 spot targets and three 3-D targets. Five shots at each target for a total of 30 shots.

          PRIZES:
Gift Certificates will be purchased from the shoot location. One gift certificate will be awarded for every 5 members that participate in the shoot. (ex. 5 members= $25 GC. 6 members= $30. 10 members= 2- $25 GC.) Gift Certificates will be awarded by a draw. Guests will be allowed to shoot one time with out paying membership fee. Guests will be allowed to enter GC drawing. additional money collected from membership fees will go into a kitty fund. At the end of the season, all paid members names are entered into a drawing. The more shoots you attend, the more times you are entered into the drawing. (ex. shoot all 8 events, you are entered 8 times. Shoot 3 events, you are entered 3 times) The three 3-D targets will also be given away at the end of the season by a drawing. To be eligible for the end of season and the target drawing you must be a paid member.
