    binos

Just getting into 3d shooting and really enjoying it. was wondering what binoculars you guys use? I have a pair of 8x42s and was thinking of getting some 10x42s. Whats your opinion? Thanks

I use 10x50 , shooting in a 45 yd class lines are sometimes hard to see. You will come across all types of light situations. Better optics perform better in low light conditions. You don't have to break the bank though, there are many mid-range binos that perform with the best of them.
Eagle Optics for me, crisp and clear and a great lifetime -transferable warranty.

I use vortex 10x42 hd's. Depends on your budget you get what you pay for in glass but not incrementally in my opinion. $2000 binos are better than $500 but not 4 times as good.

Just some good clear ones. You need to be able to see the lines out to say 50yrds

Just got a pair of Redfield 10x42s.... Crisp and clear!!! AND only 149.00 at Bass Pro!! Check them out, I compared them side by side with others costing lots more and they seemed clearer to me! Great optics!

Another vote for Vortex here, 10x56. We even have a sight sponsor that is a dealer.

I would stay with the 10X50 or 56 range. The 42's don't gather light like the 50's. There's a wide range of mid level binos that are affordable.

There is a good article in the Texas Archery Guide about the hows and whys when it comes to choosing optics. It doesn't recommend any particular brand or budget, but will help you understand what you need. If you don't have one, you can pm me and I will email the article to you.
Rocky is right, the 10x50 will gather more light (= clarity) in the dark shadows than a 10x42; however they won't gather as much light as a 8.5x50.

                        Alpen Teton, 8.5 x 50.

A 10 power may be too much and not help with 3D targets due to the lighting in most situations. Although, I do know several top archers that use 10 power.
