Pistol braces still legal in Texas!

In a “Hail Mary” attempt, the ATF tried to argue that GOA & GOF did not have a traditional membership & therefore lacked standing to bring a suit against the pistol brace rule.

What are these “pistol braces” of which you speak?

If you are employed by the State of Texas or its agencies, or so says the article you linked.

Edit: Also included are members of GOA and GOF

        Where was NRA ?

Braces aren’t illegal it’s a configuration that is illegal. Same with stocks on short barreled guns.

As usual the NRA does nothing except line their own pockets and negotiate rights away. Not sure why people still pay for a membership with them.

I figured them out a long time ago, people told me I was wrong, nuts, that NRA would never do such things. Ok, strange how all of the big fights in court for our gun rights all played out exactly the same. After they bombarded us with donate as much money as you can, $1000 is acceptable, but $20,000 $100,000 gets a lot more done. I knew many people who would give them $10,000, $20,000 every time they cooked up a new battle for our gun rights.

I thought about that, but I was afraid Burnadell would take it the wrong way

BTW Quack Hunter, the ruling says that braces must be altered to not fit the pistol, turned in, or destroyed. Can’t have a brace and a pistol in the same location.

I am a life member of the NRA. There was a time I thought they were the only one that mattered. I must say I am very disappointed in the lack of attention this matter has seen by them. Hopefully there is a lot of stuff being done that we just don’t get to hear or see.

I’m not a lawyer but stayed in a Motel 6 once. This law is about enforcing the rule at the state level which if you are a member of the plaintiff groups you are protected, however this does nothing at the Federal level. They are still illegal with the ATFs made up rules and thus the ATF can still enforce. And in light of recent YouTube/TikTok videos they love to go door to door to enforce made up laws.

Try staying at a Holiday Inn Express. The injunction was issued by a federal judge.

Exactly. It’s a federal level injunction for those that fall under the “requirements”.

AND…..NRA is a joke. It still ticks me off when I order from Midway and see the roundup donation tally for NRA. It’s over $22 million I think. That money should be given to GOA, FPC, or other org that’s actually doing some good!

I used to defend the NRA against their detractors. Turns out I was wrong and they were right. I guess I just wasn’t paying attention at the time. In the last couple years I have been paying attention and each time they sent me a letter asking for money I’ve sent it back telling them exactly how I feel. I’m a lifer also, not much I can do about that, but I’m now a GOA member and any money I contribute will go to them.

I am a GOA and FPC member. If I donate I donate to these two.
