    Hard-sided cases?

Are there any quality hard-sided cases that DON’T use the foam inserts that have to be cut or plucked to size? Basically just put the gun in the case and go.

I’ve done that with my pelican case for years? It has the pluck out type foam, I just never did as I use it for multiple rifles. Drop the rifle in with a box of ammo and roll out.

This. I have a Pelican 1750 that I only use for heavy range days. I just took the top foam out. I can fit multiple guns and quite a bit of stuff in there.

I have some old aluminum hard cases that just have the egg crate foam in them. Throw a rifle in and squish the lid shut and go. I don't much care for the cut to fit stuff. They look like this. https://www.ebay.com/itm/31465118735...sAAOSwlH5ki9RK

I have two of the Rtic hard cases and love em. They are as you describe, just put em in the case and close em.

That is EXACTLY what I was referring to.

So you don't have to cut that bottom foam on the bottom at all?

The pelicans are the same type of foam setup. No, you do not have to cut the foam at all if you don’t want to. I guess it could depend on the rifle, but most should fit without issue. The foam will compress enough and hold them tight.

You can also cut the foam for a specific rifle and pull that foam out in one piece. You can put the foam back and toss a rifle in that it’s not cut for.

Yup...Got mine on a RTIC closeout few years ago. That is the one you want.
I also have a SKB that is close and go. It was pricey.

I have an older aluminum 2-gun case. I can put 2 AR's in it. Bad part is that that sucker is Heavy with 2 guns in it and it is too long to fit in the floor of my Titan. Have to stand it up which I don't care for as it is easily recognized as a firearm case.

I have RTIC, SKB and Pelican. None of them have pluck foam. There are likes and dislikes of them all. The SKB is probably the most robust of the 3. The RTIC will hold the most guns (Ive put 4 in it) and has the best wheels. The pelican is my least favorite of them all

I've got an SKB with the eggshell foam, throw the gun and whatever else in and go. Never cut the foam and it works fine.

I would not buy another pelican, skb I have not had any issues with, so that is what my bows and rifles and hand guns and cameras get now days.

I kinda gave my old cheapo double case to a coworker a while back so he could lock it to keep his kids away from his rifles. So, picked this up a Harbor freight today.
