Matador youth march 8th

My daughter drew matador for a hog hunt march 8th. I took her out to shoot her .243 last week- 2 shots, one ragged hole at 100 yrds. I convinced her to shoot my 300 Winnie at 300 and 400 with no issues.
It’s just a pighunt but we are really looking forward to spending the weekend in matador! Anyone else going?

Awesome. It doesn't matter what you're hunting. Spending time in the field is always time well spent.

That will be some good quality time. If you want to see something cool, blow on a predator call for a little bit. Last time I did (over a decade ago) I was just about run over by mule deer does looking to save the distressed fawn. It was pretty neat.

ha- I am going to try a predator call! She’ll get a kick out of it! If anything, she may even have an opportunity at a coyote.
It looks like we’ll be getting some cooler weather this weekend too!

We had the whitetail hunt a couple years ago and saw quite a few hogs. Hunted in the O.X.compartment in the NE corner. Taking the road straight in from the headquarters will get you to a water tank and big flat down by the river. Sitting on the hill above water is 100 yard shot, and about 300-400 all the way across the open plain. Hogs came out of the trees at the river (Turkey area), and from the draws to the East
