I am most likely moving from DFW to somewhere between Austin and San Antonio. I was wondering what public hunting lands are worthwhile in that area, any waterfowl public hunting, and what are good fishing lakes/rivers/etc. I'm not asking for anyone's honeyhole just what's good down in that area so we can look more towards Austin or more towards San Antonio. without recreational areas we're considering Kyle and Dripping Springs.
I know I could look online but hey it says I can fish at Grapevine but heck I know personally that's a waste of time. I also have never been able to find any information for waterfowl hunting on Eagle Mountain lake but that's some of the best in DFW. I prefer word of mouth and personal experience over internet research
