Got my Turner Spring Deer mix planted on Thursday in Parker County. Should have had about 6-8 tenths on it over the weekend. Fingers crossed for more rain.

Glorious rain, I think we have had over 2 inches with 90 - 100 percent chances of rain and snow mix for most of today, could not have timed planting much better

I’m hoping this potential frost tonight doesn’t damage my already sprouting plots. I know my Navarro co stuff is up already but I don’t think it will hit there. Not sure of the status of Oklahoma just hoping they haven’t broke thru the soil yet. We don’t usually plant there until late April but we had some other work getting done so we did it two weeks ago while the equipment was there.

Anyone having trouble with Turner Seed? Been trying to get an order filled and keep getting that they will be right back with me…then nothing. I’ve been buying 300-500# a seed a year from them for years and now I can’t even get them to respond.

I went thru the local feed store in Comanche but they ordered from Turner and had it delivered. They called and got a response pretty quick. Hopefully that isn't because they are a feed store and Turner Seeds is not treating others right. But I had no issues ordering seed through another party.

I placed an order last Saturday and had it that Tuesday. I just did an online order. Couple hundred pounds worth though.

I hope to get 45 trees in the ground this weekend and all my new plots sprayed. I typically plant in the first 2 weeks of May

I'm going to try to get started at about noon on Friday and get at least half of my plots done this weekend before it hopefully rains. Then whatever I don't get finished this weekend I'll wrap up next weekend. Fingers crossed the rain holds out until Saturday afternoon and then it rains nonstop thru Monday...

Good news/Bad news. My wife and I busted *** yesterday and got 8 of our 12 plots done totaling 6.5 acres of our 10.5 acres. Last night it rained over half an inch and is still raining. I drove around the ranch this morning and there is water standing. So the good news is those plots should be in great shape. The bad is I was really hoping the rain would hold off until noon today and we would have been done with all the plots for the remaining plots to get a little water as well. But I'll take what I can get given we weren't planning on planting until next weekend anyway.

And then the other bad, I use Hunt Stand to mark my plots and plow the perimeter. I finished the perimeter on a plot and put my phone in the tool box beside me and the next round I noticed something on the ground. My phone bounced out and then I disked over it. So it is toast!! If you were wanting pictures, sorry as they were on my phone LOL.

Rain looking good for this coming week, almost a month with no rain and plots are hanging in there.
