    Magnification on bow scope

Anyone use a magnifier on their hunting bow. I'm finding my 45 year old eyes can't seem to aim small anymore and that unless it's prime light I'm really just aiming at an area. Aim small miss small is now aim at an area and get the arrow in the area.

If you do use one what magnification and lense do you use.

I tried it last year and it cost me a shot. The lens was full of condensation and could not see to make a clean shot.

Besides that what did you think?

I have a spray I use when fishing that'll fix that quick.

I just bought one for my hha sight, it's a 6x lens and should be here in a day or two. The fog and condensation would be my main concern for hunting but I don't think I would take a shot much past 20 to 30 yds so I don't think I would need it. I'm hoping that it will help me see a bit better past 30 yds without having to get glasses but I will see. When I get it and try it out I'll post back and give my opinion.

My dad has a special peep. Not really a magnification but it's a lease that helps him see better with the whole near sight far target issue. He needs glasses to trade but wearing them to shoot is an issue. He got it from the bow zone

I have heard about these as well, is he pretty happy with the way it works?

There is a verifier and a clarifier peep one is for up close and one is for far away. I use the one for close up so I can see my pins.
I have no experience using a magnifier while hunting but I do from when I shot 3D tourneys for years. I once changed from a 1x to a 4x and was doing fine. I could pick my spot in the 12 rings, then the wind kicked up. I was trying to shoot to small and started punching, took that sight off and never tried it again.

You might regret that 6x scope for hunting. Don't believe me, grab a rifle, turn it up to 6x and try to pick a spot on an object 25 yards away. IMO anything more than 3x for hunting is way too much. And this is coming from someone who shot as high as 8x on paper targets, where the X was as big as the entire scope ring.

I suggest you go to a shop that has clarifier, and verifier peeps and look through them to see if that is all you need, and if not then pursue the magnified glass route. Also, Lancaster has scope covers you can keep on them until you are ready to shoot. That will keep the condensation and dust off of them as you wait.

I don't plan on using it while hunting, I would probably only hunt up to about 2t yds or 30. I am hoping the lens will help me while shooting at home past 30 but if I don't like it I will definitely try out the peep magnifier and see how that does. I may just end up getting glasses but I'm not sure yet.
