    But that's slick!
If we were hunting open water I would definitely look into doing something like that but we plan on dragging it up into big clumps of reeds and that should keep it in place just fine I imagine. If doesn't hold without an anchor than just one decent sized anchor thrown into the reeds and tied off to the blind will be plenty to keep it in place!

          Box anchors.

We've anchored a big blind just like that by using 3 box anchors. 2 on the front 2 corners and 3rd in the middle of the back.

            Nice!!

I would definitely make sure you at least have a block to slap on a transom mount style trolling motor. This way you could move it around easy and hunt the wind.

For now we plan on just towing it with another boat to the spot where we want to hunt. We usually go down the afternoon before we hunt and move decoys anyway so moving the blind won't be a hassle. I'm definitely excited to see how it works, gonna finish drilling vent holes this afternoon, then it's off to get hot dip galvanized!

When we had them on the north end of Lake Livingston back in the 90's we would drill a hole in the dead center of blind floor and slide a 2 to 3 " peice of long PVC into the mud. If the river flooded the blind would rise up the poll and not float away.

I dropped it off about 3 hours ago to get hot dip galvanized. It will be ready Friday so I will try and float it on Sunday and report back with pictures and how stable it is!

Just picked it up from the galvanizing plant. I hope to get deck boards on it today and float it sometime this week.

Also you can see the dog ramp/door to the blind on the far end. It is on hinges and will fold down and have a couple chains that hook back to the blind for support. I'm gonna put 2x6's for the deck boards on the blind and 5/4 deck boards on the dog ramp with a 2x4 every 6 inches on top of that for traction for the dog

I like your design and end product, can't wait to see pics of it in the water. Great job!

Did you use AZZ for your galvanizing?
