Something old and new…catch bits in a slipjoint knife

Haven’t posted any knife stuff on here in a few years but I’m pretty proud of this one as it’s a new skill I acquired that most people wouldn’t even notice. This is a prototype Muskrat pattern w 2 full length blades sitting on a single spring. The catch bits act as a spacer inside the frame of the knife to allow the 2 blades to clear each other when closed…it makes for a thinner 2 blade knife while still being able to have the full length blades. Don’t know how they used to make these back in the day with lesser tools and technology because it was a booger to do!
