Gimme gimme gimme. Most people pursue a different job or employment if they’re not making enough money. You don’t force it upon the American economy. As to automation - that’s called evolution if the workplace. Virtually all work environments enhance itself through automation in one manner or another. Companies that are more profitable can and often do pay the employee more.

I could bring in a crew of pipefitters and take over that entire industry in about 3 days...maybe less

I wish someone would explain what a Union does or why it's good for anyone except the workers in the union.

And as you explain please tell me why every industry should not have a union (fast food, HEB, semiconductors, farmers-lol imagine the cost of a bag of corn, etc.

From the data published there are 47k union folks in this strike. As for the millions of other workers not a part of a union that works and thrives in a free market the message the union sends is a losing one. US numbers only 10% of workers belong to a union, there is a reason for that, it is a dying model. You talk like you have some army out there to go to battle but the numbers don’t add up to your special club. Keep paying your dues and making the union leadership rich.

I’m sure the unions had their place way back in time, but now they’re ready to try and cripple the economy even further just because they don’t get their way. If they want that 77% pay increase, be worth it in a free market. If you don’t get it, you’re probably not worth it. And threatening the rest of the country like that as a way of negotiating is nothing more than throwing a fit. Same as the kid in the store throwing a fit because they don’t get what they want. It’s time to bring in non union workers and let the unions figure out what they’ll do with their thousands of unemployed workers who don’t get unemployment.

Don't worry.... Your TEMU and Amazon is safe on a ship docked out at sea

                      This is your Union leadership?

If so, are you proud of that representation?

The thing about unions is they aren't exactly for the workers, either. My dad's uncle was a union steward in Chicago. The unions took money from workers in the form of "union dues" for years and years. The thought was when a strike rolled around the union would cover their missing wages to 60%. After 40 years the union went on strike and strike pay was $4 / day when workers were getting paid $16/ hour. After 2 weeks, the strike fund was depleted. Workers started selling everything they owned to buy food and after a few more weeks, they were willing to take any deal the company offered. And the union bosses were still driving past the picket lines in their limos and eating at 5 star restaurants with the company heads. They didn't care that men were selling their cars, clothes and everything else to put food on the table.

My dad's uncle was glad he was a steward because he was higher up and was paid full wages for the strike. When he retired, he left for Texas and told everyone how corrupt the unions are. Texas is a right to work state but many states in the NE are closed labor states - union membership required.

Old school pit bull! Sometimes that is the only language money barons understand.

For some folks that have never been union you boys sure know everything about it!

They KNOW they are hurting the economy, they use the "families" excuse, while ignoring all the families in the US that are just barely getting by and can't take any more price increases.

Exactly the way I see it.

Spot on. Just because they went to work during the plandemic......whoopty fk'n doo. So did I.

What's on those boats is irrelevant......a poorly designed cell phone case from TEMU, a cheap knock off China made Honda carb from Amazon or a new Bentley from Cheshire.....the price on all of it will go up the longer it sits anchored at sea and it will be the end user that pays for a bunch of grown men acting like a bunch of Nancy's.
