PEC--it was a terrible shot--totally behind the ribcage (and a nasty field dressing job as well). I've replayed the shot over and over, and all I can figure out is either a really bad anchor job, or the buck was moving when I thought he was standing still. If I hadn't cut that major vessel, not sure we would have recovered him--but as it is, good blood trail with a low exit, and a short drag back to the top of the ridge.
