7 days are not enough. Cruises are the best way to see a lot of territory and are as stress free as it gets. I have done cruise with just me and my wife and again with multiple couples. Several fishing trips on the Kenai, float and drop camps for moose and caribou. I can assure you your first trip will not be your last.

Have since heard about using the ferry system to hop around and it sounded very interesting.

All I can say is Talon Air Services float plane fishing trip! It ain’t cheap but it’s worth every single penny. Search my name or search Alaska and you will see some pictures and a better description of our trip a couple years ago. We went for 2 weeks, flew in and out of Anchorage. Covered everything from Fairbanks, Denali, Seward, and Kenai.

We did 2 cruises and then on our 3rd trip we decided to just fly in, rent a car and do our own thing.
We flew into Juneau, rented a VRBO, rented car through Turo. Helicopter glacier tour, Fishing charter for halibut, whale watching and TON of sight seeing.
It was way better than the cruises only catch is that you see Juneau.
We went in late August.
