I would agree with you. I did not blame the guys who went to LIV in the first place and in the end I just want to see the best golfer compete.
Maybe this will also knock some of the crust and stodginess off the PGA and lighten the game up a bit.

        BC is a twit.

        With an a.

Not at all surprised to see it, and I think it all boils down to the latter part of your post. All of the "holier than thou" folks who were loyal and "stood on principal" were simply compensated mouthpieces for a threatened/disgruntled monopoly.

I'm not a fan of it. Call me a hater, but I don't want to see the PGA Tour influenced by Saudi money. And PIF Governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan is going to be chairman of the new board overseeing this new venture (do we still call it the PGA?). This is somehow good news for golf?

This has turned into a huge soap opera. Watching this unfold is going to be more entertaining than the sport itself for the time being. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few guys that are set for life take an early retirement and watch from the sidelines with popcorn. Being in the middle of this has to be exhausting.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, the PGA is already taking money from the Saudis, and a few worse countries.

Monahan was afraid of the pga tour books being opened to public due to lawsuits. He either had to get on board with LIV or get buried by them. Just my 2 cents.

Feel bad for the guys that sided with the PGA tour and the tradition side just for the pga to bend them over.

Other side of the coin of course is most of them received offers to jump and they declined it so sucks to suck.

Of course there has always been advertising and sponsorship money at some level. But not billions of dollars and chairman of the board type influence. This is on another level.

Monahan and the PGA caved and can't fight that Saudi money.

                              Phil wins again.

                                Unless it's the US Open.
