I hope to do it again sometime with my boy so he to can have such a life experience.
Lemme know if you need a pardna to run with to get in shape before your boy runs! I really hope my kids have an interest in it. Would be a great adventure!

She’s a true bad ***. Her dad is one of the best characters I’ve ever met.

You guys are making me think I can do this in the next year or two. I always follow the threads on here but never pull the trigger to go

After my sister and her boy’s run last year, my boy was all in for it, except for the training. Lol
I’m not paddling him down. He’s going to work for it.
But if we train for next year, I’ll definitely let you know
We’d most likely be running in the tanker division (Tim can)

You bet. YETI puts out some cool content. JT is the son of Townes Van Zandt and paddles the safari pretty often.

Dang Marshall, sounds like this is going to be a challenging adventure.

Good luck to you and your team sir. Stay safe out there.

Appreciate it, Jason. Should be fun! A weird kind of fun, but fun nonetheless.

I figured I'd get the thread going to see who on the green screen was participating this year and of those to see if anybody would be willing to share anything about recent paddles. Our team name is Magic School Bus and our boat number is 8588.

My brother, dad, and I entered for the first time last year and finished in 86:22. I've got two new people in the boat this year, but we're hoping to beat that by a real margin. We'll be racing the same Minnesota 3 that we did last year, but have finally got it trimmed the right way and have picked up some speed. That said, we'll keep praying for rain.

Finally, the tragedy of Concho Man's passing during this event is at the front of mind when we go and tackle this thing. Rest in peace!

Magic School Bus on the racks ready to head south
We’ve had quite bit of rain so far this year. 3.5” last nite. Barring another dry spell, river should be running for the race.

Hope you’re right! Guadalupe is running strong for now but San Marcos is headed back to where it was. We’ll hope for the best.

Gnarly log jam from the night race Saturday. This is between Palmetto and Gonzales. Should be a fun experience to do this around 1 in the morning!

It's the ants on the jams that I hate! I'm sure if the jam isn't too big, there'll be a small path cut through it by the race.
Just watch for the nope-ropes that also hang out on the jams.

I think this one may be a little too big for the chainsaw fairies. I hope I’m wrong. This will be middle of the night and hopefully enough boats will come through to make the ropes scatter, ha!!

One week out! This time next week I'm hoping we're through Thompson's Island and done with the chaos that is the startup of the race.

Weather is looking pretty good with a chance of some rain. We'll hope for the best!!
