Booked a weekend on sept to dinosaur valley sp. the wife wants to make a quick weekend trip so I am forgoing a weekend of dove hunting. I will sacrifice for the family and I hear it’s a great park.

      Yes it's a great park.

Try to squeeze the trip in Aug. You can say that way you go before it rains and the river will be low. Makes it easier to see the tracks in the river bed.

If anyone ever makes the trip to Red River, NM I highly recommend Road Runner RV Park. We stayed in the 18 and over area and loved it. Great people, awesome scenery, and a well maintained park.

Fredericksburg was great! We did our best to stay out of the heat, and did a lot of driving and exploring. We drove to Garner State Park, Kerrville, and drove by some bad arse ranches! Aside from getting good WIFI to stream Amazon, HULU, etc., everything went well. Note to new RV'rs like us, if you have cable TV at your campsite, be sure to turn your antenna booster button OFF. If it is on, you won't get your cable channels to upload.

You will learn to hate park cable and especially the unreliable wifi, we love our Starlink RV wifi for streaming.

Thanks, I don't wanna get stuck in a contract because we're not full timers, and I want to only use it When we go camping. I'll definitely look more into Starlink.
(...and sorry for the double pic upload...)

we only use ours when camping, you can pause and resume service with a click of a button on the app, just need to turn it back on a day in advance and turn the unit on so it can update.

I've been man-handling my 5th wheel hitch taking it in and out of my truck. When we got back from Fredericksburg, I tweaked my back taking it out for storage. I did a quick search for an easier way to get it loaded/unloaded (and thought about making some sort of harness out of cable and cable clamps) and found this JEWEL... It's made by Demko, and locks in to your hitch (there are cheaper brands on AMAZON). I'm going to use my engine lift, but you can also use an electric winch or a 4:1 pulley system. I'm sure most veteran RV'rs have these or know about them, but I wanted to share in hopes of saving someone's back...

Love them pics of the frio. Right below the bridge above Garner.

We made it to Concan yesterday and will be camping on the Frio till Tuesday. We pack up Tuesday and will go to Port Aransas for some beach time and fishing. We will be in the camper for 9 days, this will be our longest camping trip so far.

Recently went to Camp Fimfo on the Guadalupe- way over priced and over crowded for what it is . Ryan Bingham concert was cool though.

then to Blanco state park- full hook ups were nice but water not flowing over falls was a bit of a buzz kill

Then it was Perdenales state park, once again the drought is hitting it hard. Deer in camp was cool.

This weekend it’s Beachfront Rv , Surfside, Tx. We’ve stayed here several times in the past- the attached Restaurant and live bands on the weekends makes it nice.

Camp Fimfo spot- waaaaaayyyy away from any water- better bring or reserve a golf cart for this place .
                          Did I mention $536 for 3 nights

Blanco State park- full hook ups, but the 30 amp spot we had left us wishing for the other 20.

                              Perdenales state park-
no full hook ups- but they say they’re upgrading the sites to add more . Maybe camp wide ?

This poor place was dry as all get out. I felt sorry for the camp deer walking around.

Sorry so many post, but figuring out these photos off the phone makes it challenging for this 50+er.
