    Where to eat in Lubbock

Daughter is graduating the nursing program at Texas Tech this weekend. We are staying at an air-bnb a couple miles south of the loop and about a mile west of 27/87. We will have 9 in our party.

Any recommendations for a place to have dinner? Trying to stay around $40/$45 a person on the high side.

Any local "hole-in-the-wall" type places off the beaten path?

Home cooking - steaks - BBQ - Mexican - maybe pizza

Caprock Cafe, Triple J, Orlando's, Jazz, Gator's Bayou, Anna's Mexican Restaraunt is good as well. 50th Street Caboose has good food as well as an arcade if you have younger folks in your crew.

If it is graduation weekend expect a wait everywhere. And with that being said, Orlandos would be my first choice. The spicy tortellini is great as are all of their other dishes. Caprock is a good burger/CFS place and they have 2 locations.

All good recommendations. Also Italian Garden downtown.

Good Chinese, never crowded is East Moon at Slide and 50th.

For lunch/less fancy I like Bangkok Thai on 34th.

BBQ Evie Mae's BUT it will be super crowded.

Edit - totally forgot about my very fav place - Yamagata's Japanese Steakhouse on 82nd. Ken is the man.

The bierhaus on broadway has very tasty regular or spicy fried chicken made to order. It’s the spicy for me.

For the price point jazz. Italian garden. BYOB.

Go ahead and splurge to las brisas. Won’t be disappointed. And should be able to make a reservation.

Hill BBQ on the northside of town is the real deal if you ask me.

Spankys near campus for burgers and the like.

Blue Sky has a good CFS along with burgers, etc.

Pollys Place for quick drive thru West Texas style breakfast burritos.

                        Las Brisas for sure.

                        Caprock casual.
                        Jazz cajun.
Double nickel (decent steakhouse) and spankys for the fried cheese!
                        Cagles.

Pretty much everything mentioned above in thread.

                          Congratulations!

My daughter is graduating on Friday so we will be there this weekend as well. She says we are going to Capital Pizza and Chimy’s.
