Back at this morning.

I swapped properties this morning. Giving that farm a rest with all the havoc Talen dished out yesterday.

I’m set up on the same property as Kade. We have cut beans fields with several strips of timber surrounding them.

Kade has seen 2 different shooters here. Hoping we can get one on the ground.

Talen opted to sleep in this morning being that he is out of tags and all.

Sure feels like a good morning for a Buck to be on his feet.

Kade has a doe at 20 yards.


While he is up in Illinois hunting, his wife is laying down target bucks at our River Bottom lease back home.
She has been after The Bulldog all season and put in a LOT of hours on the stand. It all paid off yesterday evening.
We are super stoked for her!!!

Headed out to take T to the airport.

Kade and I saw 6 deer / 5 bucks and 1 doe between the 2 of us.

Got really slow after 9:30.

We’ll be back at it in the morning hunting a ESE wind.

Settled in this morning back in my lock-on at the corner of the bean field.

Already have had a buck bumping Does around in the bean field.

It feels great this morning. 23 degrees, frost on the ground, with an ESE wind.

Kade is posted up in the same stand I hunted yesterday on a farm 11 miles South of me.

Sure wishing Talen was still here with me but I guess an education is kinda important.

Gonna sit till 11:00 and then go hang a East wind set up down in the draw that Talen and I hunted.

Eventful last 10 min.

Looked up to see a Shooter 8 pnt across the bean field working a scrape.
Rattled, grunted, snort wheezed. No interest.
He got almost to the barn North of me and cut across the field to the timber. Limping. Now I see why he has no interest.

Rattled a 4 point in from the draw to my South and another buck that I never saw but he saw me I guess. Super loud, raspy blow. Could have been a doe but dang sure didn’t sound like it.

It definitely has been. Still learning these properties but we are seeing lots of deer.
