I guess the snow had the cell service jacked up this morning. I haven’t been able to get any pictures loaded. It snowed pretty hard till 9 o’clock. As soon as it quit snowing deer were on their feet.

I heard a noise behind us and looked around to see a buck eating corn off the cobb on the edge of the corn field. I grab my binoculars and gave him a quick look. When I saw the tine length I told Talen to get ready we’re going to shoot this buck.

He never knew we were there. Talen couldn’t see him for a tree in the way. That gave him an opportunity to get set up and ready. The buck finally turned and started walking. I stopped him with a grunt in the best spot I thought Talen could get a shot off. He threaded the needle thru some thick brush and 10 ringed him.

We were both hugging, fist bumping and giggling like little kids when we watched him go down.

We bout froze to death yesterday when we underestimated the wind chill. Got snowed on all morning but with temperature appropriate clothing. I’d do it all over again 1,000,000 times just to experience memories like I did this morning. I’m so proud of this kid! He puts in the work. He has made some awesome shots. He weathers the elements and it pays off for him.

We are COLD and about to gut him and hang him up so we can hunt this evening. I’ll do a better write up tonight.
