Had a group of hogs come in behind me and busted me.

Bryce had 2 young bucks come thru. Haven’t heard an update from him.

Good hunt for the first day. Wind really helped with the heat and we all saw some animals.

I’ll update on T’s hog shot once I get over there to him.

Going off of Talen’s shot description, we are gonna back out and give him the night.

He is not real confident that the hog is dead, so when in doubt, back out.

Just got to camp and about to start on dinner.

We have been set up since 6:15.

Bryce and I are in a Maverick style blind overlooking a feeder pen.
Targets here are a big 6 point and an old 8 point. Bonus for any hogs that show up.
I’m on the camera this morning. Bryce has bow in hand.

Talen is set up in a ladder stand on the edge of a cedar thicket, overlooking a feeder.

SW wind this morning.

It’s breaking daylight and the feeder just spun.

Let’s see what shows up.

I wish I could say we are about to take some grip and grins but we have a clean miss at 30 yards.
This buck definitely needs to be shot. Post Mature. Huge body.

Both boys shot their bows yesterday at camp with zero issues.
I think we just have a case of buck fever/nerves this morning.

Reviewed the footage and his shot was perfect, just high over the back. He is pretty frustrated with the fact that he knows his bow is on and missed.

Great hunt this morning regardless. 2 mature bucks, 7 does and a lot of turkeys.

We are gonna sit till 10:00. Head to camp, shoot bows again and grab some grub.
