Here we go!
Kicking off the 3rd leg of our 19 Days to Kill!!!
We left the house at 9:00 slinging rocks and spraying black smoke. It didn’t last long though. Literally 3 miles from the house we made our first stop of the trip.
Amongst all of our excitement, I might have been a little heavy on the accelerator and got the attention of a very friendly and professional State Trooper. He inquired about our hunting trip. Stated that he had zero intentions of ruining the start to our trip. Asked for my autograph and sent us on our way.
So here we are, cruise set at a legal speed, smiles on our face and headed North.
ETA is 3:30. Destination is Rule Tx. Targets are Whitetail and Hogs. We are loaded down with Bows, Thermal & Night vision.
Looking forward to a few days of hunting with both my boys.

We got settled in camp. Bags unpacked. Practice shots made. Exchanged hunting stories with the ranch managers.
I was the last person dropped off. I’m set up in a Millennium double ladder stand over looking a feeder pen. Feeders go off at 7:00.
Already got a small 8 right under me.
Talen has turkeys and a doe on him. He is set up in a tripod tucked back in some oaks.
Bryce is in a ground blind on the edge of the Brazos River.
Ranch Managers says they are over run with hogs & to shoot all we want. Deer hunting should be better in the morning.
We’ll see how the evening goes.

Sun is setting over the tree tops.
SW wind is a steady 12-14 MPH.
I’m tucked back in a mesquite tree thicket. Can’t see very far around me but I’m hid real good.
Talen text and has hogs coming in. Hopefully he gets a shot.
Feeder just spun.
Let’s see what happens
