Definitely a healthier herd than last year. Our bottom stayed flooded all spring of 2021 and hurt their browse.

I think it’s just the pic but I could be wrong. I was focusing more of the North side of him when he stepped out. Lol

I hear you, I would be focusing more on the North end as well. Just happened to notice it. I had never really noticed a deer with a bob-tail until the last few years, I shot a buck with one, and now it's funny I have seen recently.

They definitely have had plenty of good groceries.

I’m in, locked and loaded.

Spent all day on a tractor mowing and discing. Bout to put some wheat on the ground tomorrow.

Amongst all the tractor work, I found myself mechanicing more than I’d like, and didn’t have time to make it home to get my bow so I’m long gunning it this evening.

Swapped back to my big stand for the evening hunt. I’m feeling pretty confident that Comb Over or the Old 6 will show up being that Summer & Talen have Church tonight.

It’s a beautiful day! Crows are sounding off and I’ve got a 5 MPH NW wind working in my favor.

There’s no feeder pen at this stand. I normally just spray the lanes with corn. Had several pics of hogs last night so I’d be surprised if there is any golden nuggets left today.

We’ll see what happens.

2 does & 2 yearlings just stepped out. They milled around the lane looking for corn and made their way to the alfalfa pile.

Sun is settling over the tree tops. Frogs and crickets are tuning up. It’s definitely a beautiful evening in the river bottom.

I had that outside my travel trailer last night about midnight.

I thought a whole herd of methheads was closing in on me for nefarious means.

Well I called it.

Comb Over stepped out at 6:57. Fed in the road and into the hardwoods.

Does and yearlings filtering in the lane now.

Just got settled in.
I’m coattailing this morning. Kade laid eyes on a shooter yesterday morning and suggested I hunt his stand this morning since he has to work.

43 degrees with a North Wind. It feels good this morning.
Had a pretty good bit of movement last night on the cell cams.

It’ll be a short hunt this morning. Got some errands to run and a Dr appointment at 11:30.

Not sure I’ll hunt this evening. Got a date night planned with Summer before me and the boys leave for North Tx in the morning.

I’ll update after daylight.
