    Just got to the truck.

    Awesome evening hunt.
Had 5 does total come in to the feeding pen.

Looked up and here comes The Bulldog. Works a scrape and pushes the does out of the pen.

I had him exactly where he needed to be @ 32 yards and I couldn’t make myself shoot him. I’d much rather pass him and let one of the boys or Summer shoot him. Or Kades daughter and wife.

Don’t get me wrong, I definitely had the urge to run an arrow thru him. But I know some young men and ladies that he would make very happy to put on their wall.

My phone died taking pics so I couldn’t update the hunt.

Headed home to tell my story.

That’s a lot better than sitting on a skunk Heath. Looked like a good sit.

19 Days to Kill - Live!!! New Mexico, East Tx, North Tx, Illinois

Settled in at the house and just finished watching the final cut of our New Mexico Elk hunt with the family.

              Let me tell you…
Justin Spies out did himself with the editing and audio. For a couple of old country boys with some half-decent footage, he definitely made us look like better hunters than we actually are.

Only thing better than sharing a camp with a good friend/hunting partner is getting it on video.

              Really appreciate the work Justin!!!

Ya’ll check his video out in his YouTube Channel.

                Just pulled up to camp.

Got a little rain last night in the river bottom. Not sure how much, but definitely enough to soften the crunch of leaves.

Gonna post up at our camp stand this morning and do a little inventory.

                I’ll update at daylight.

Heck yeah and great video of elk. If it’s not already it should be it’s own thread so everyone can watch. Good luck.

Been following this and kept reading feed pen but didnt see any wire or panels. Now I see it. Appears to be a feed pasture!!

I like that oak flat set up

                      Breaking daylight.

Woods are waking up and I’ve got 2 does under the feeder to my North.

3 does at the feeder now.

Had some pigs cross about 100 yards just north of them.

NE wind is picking up. The Breeze is definitely is welcomed this morning.

                              Does finally milled off.

I wanted to hunt this stand just to see what was showing up here.
My camp house sets right off this pipeline about 60 yards from the stand. After several deer sightings last year we decided we needed a camp stand. It’s primarily a rifle stand but does have windows to shoot a bow out of. 3 shooting lanes to pick from and any wind out of the East works great.

We planted the whole pipeline in wheat last year and the deer hammered it.

We have a protein feeder inside a feed pen 200 yards to the South and a Corn feeder 200 yards North.

Lol! Yes sir, we try to give them plenty of space to eat. 12-13 panels minimum.
That oak flat is 1 of my favorite stands. It’s Talen’s stand and I doubt he’ll ever give it up.
