German Malinois. Great family pets, protectors, and companions. Very intelligent and can be taught to do anything.

If you're up for an adventure, get yourself a GSP.

Gotta look into the BMC a bit. That sounds interesting

Most of the dogs listed above need a lot of exercise to keep them from getting bored. When they get bored they get into stuff and tear it up. I'd look into a non working breed, unless you have time to work them. I'll probably get beaten up for this, but I've always been partial to pit or pit cross dogs, but only if I get them as young as possible. They have a bad reputation, but you usually only hear the bad stuff. Not sure how many we've had, but only one of them had a trigger, and I got her at several months old. Take your time on your decision and it's nice to see people do their homework before rushing into something they don't want, or can't handle.

A pit bull fits all of your requirements.

I’ve had several and all of them have been great dogs

                          Lab, either black or yellow.
Maybe a GSP as they can be pretty versatile
Jack Russel if you have to have a smaller dog

Either way, my advice is to research the bloodline and wait for the right litter

Or see what you can find to adopt.

I guess I’ll be the first to say JRT, but that’s just the best for me. I don’t know what’s best for you. We bought this little feller for my son when he was just a kid. When he moved out Sarge stayed with us. He tracks and he finds. He has tackled unhurt boar hogs that could kill him, if they could catch him ! He loves everybody but he’s definitely my dog. Yep, he just has one eye now…..long story.

Rescue pup. Just got an Aussie mix rescue a month or so ago and she’s been great!

Man, No one mentioned Golden retrievers? Best dog we have ever owned. Does all those things and loves the kids and family the most.
