Haven’t hunted yet but I still have a lot of doe activity, only catching a few bucks traveling. It’s really dry at my place. Gonna plant this weekend as it looks like some rain chances next week and want to be ready. Gonna try to hunt once or twice this weekend.

It looks like your rain chances are getting smaller! I planted about a month ago and it still hasn’t been rained on. Hoping we get some soon.

I planted today, powder dry. It’s as bad as I have seen it since I bought in 2017. Saw some acorns falling in some areas but most of them are rotten or the acorn it self is shriveled up inside. Still a lot of doe and pig activity but bucks are awol. Really weird for as dry as it is, would think bucks would be hammering feed trying to bulk up some. There must be enough acorns dropping down deep in the creek bottoms to satisfy them. Come one rain!

Haven’t made it down this year. Just to much going on and every weekend it seems I’m sick or one of my kids is. Hoping to hunt the end of October. My dads place is like everyone else, incredibly dry. Think will do a throw and mow plot this year and hand corn as usual.

I went out to the ranch today. Moved cows around fed my hand corn spots, changed camera cards. Also went ahead and added some more seed on my food plots just in case it rains and to replace what the birds have probably eaten. Pray for rain boys. Hopefully this is the time!

I haven’t hunted yet…hoping to next week after the cool front comes through. Most likely it will be the week after though. Lots of acorns on the ground at my place, although small. Lot of bucks at the feeders including some good ones from last year. Not seeing many doe at the feeders which seems odd for this time of year. We will see!

I came down tonight. The pigs are camping out at my feeders. Hoping to thin a couple out in the morning. The bucks are starting to show up on camera. Seem to still be grouped up. Ready for some cool weather to keep them moving.

Was out at ranch sunday and it's still crazy dry, guessing we missed all the rain last sat/sunday. Watching radar today and looking like we missed most of it today as well. Not sure how much longer we can take these conditions, ranchers/farmers in the area are really hurting.

Had some light sprinkles throughout the day and some short showers right at dark. Good line of storms heading this way so maybe we will finally get lucky
