    Daily Bible Portion (Saturday)

    Daily Bible Portion – 7 of 7
    "PHINEHAS"

    (Numbers 25:10-29:40, 1 Kings 18:46-19:21, Colossians 2:8-4:6, Matthew 26:1-30, John 2:13-22, 1 Corinthians 5:6-8)

    The Offerings
    (Numbers 28:1-39:40)

The list of offerings showed the order and importance of the Feasts Days, which gives believers a greater revelation and appreciation of them. Yahweh through the offerings is presenting believers with the ways of His protocol and increase. Today, we do not offer animal sacrifices; but He has given us two commodities to use: one is finance and the other is time. Most people understand the principle behind the tithe and that it is the ten percent of our increase or income. The offerings are designated for the widows, fatherless, strangers and the Levites among us. However not many of us understand what the offerings are or how to present them. Often, offerings are given randomly with no regulated order in mind.

In Numbers 28 we see God prescribe a method for how His offerings ought to be brought. God’s people are taught not to come into His presence empty handed. Worshipers are always to bring something. Offering on His appointed days, times and seasons, daily, weekly, monthly and at His appointed Feasts Days carries an anointing. They were to be given over and above the ten percent tithe and came out of the ninety percent portion that is left after the tithe is given. This offering is called holy unto Yahweh and is our holy portion before Him.

Luke 21:1-4 “And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, ‘Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.’”

The daily offerings are given during the daily morning and evening hours of prayer: the third hour (9 AM) and the ninth hour (3 PM) or between the evenings yahshaw (Jesus) time. What do we bring? Depending on your circumstances, pray and offer what God puts on your heart to give. Remember it is not about the financial amount but about the heart that responds. Offerings are also given on the Sabbath, the New Moon, and on the spring appointed/feast days (Passover, Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits) and during the fall appointed/feast days (Day of Blowing/Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Tabernacles and The Eighth Day). With the use of this system there was no lack and the community thrived. The presentation of alms is a response to the truth. Its purpose and goal is to point to the Messiah (Zechariah 14:16-21; Hebrews Chapters 3-4).

Act 10:3-4 “About the ninth hour of the day [3 PM hour of prayer] he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, ‘Cornelius!’ And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, ‘What is it, lord?’ So he said to him, ‘Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.’”

Isaiah 61:10-11 “I delight greatly in Yahweh; my soul rejoices in my Elohim. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Yahweh will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.”
